FAQ
Q: Why should I attend a training walk? Can’t I train on my own?
Joining the LTAW training walks is a free way to build up your endurance, get familiarised with parts of the actual route, and meet others who may become your walking buddies, fellow volunteers, or group mates for a 10% discount.
Please continue to train on your own beyond the LTAW training walks, as these are meant to augment, not replace a walker’s training plan.
Q: Will I be sufficiently prepared by attending all the training walks?
The training walks are not compulsory, but we strongly encourage participants to attend, especially those challenging themselves in the 50KM PowerWalk and 100KM XtremeWalk.
The training walks are meant to complement your training plan, not replace it. All participants are encouraged to train early and adequately so that the actual walk will be as enjoyable an experience as possible.
Look out for preparation tips and events on the LTAW website and social media channels!
Q: Must I have registered and paid for LTAW to attend a training walk? No, if you haven’t registered yet, or are undecided about which category to sign up for, feel free to join a training walk as a way to gauge your readiness or explore the category route.
Q: Must I fully complete each training walk? No, you may opt to join us and walk along for a certain distance and exit at a safe point.
Q: What if I decide not to sign up for LTAW after joining a training walk? Feel free to donate to a good cause or sign up to be a volunteer!
